OUR STORY

Building on Legacy

For more than 40 years, PCI has been an industrial pillar in Northeast Kansas. Whether it be a factory, school district, or hospital, our clients have come to trust not only the work we do, but the people doing it.

Our History

PCI Mechanical’s story began in 1979 when founder Brown came to Tecumseh, Kansas, to work on the DuPont Cellophane Plant, now Futamura. After the project was completed, he chose to put down roots in Kansas and began providing in-plant maintenance services directly to DuPont.

As additional contracts followed, PCI expanded into process piping, fabrication, plant maintenance, HVAC, certified welding, equipment installation and repair, plant shutdowns and other mechanical services. What began as a five-person crew has grown to nearly 100 employees serving industrial, commercial and institutional customers throughout the region.

In 2024, PCI Mechanical was acquired by Bettis Companies, beginning a new chapter in the company’s history. Today, PCI continues to build on its strong reputation for quality workmanship, dependable service and long-term customer relationships.

Our employees remain the foundation of the company. We value hard work, honoring our commitments and taking pride in every project. Backed by the resources of Bettis Companies, PCI is positioned to continue growing while maintaining the quality and trusted service our customers have relied on for decades.

Craftmanship. Quality. Accountability.
