No Job Too Big or Too Small

At PCI Mechanical, we have the expertise and field experience to take on any plumbing and pipefitting installation work. There is no job too big or too small for our team of professional, diligent, and safety-conscious individuals.

Importance of Training

Crucial to any pipefitting work is having fully trained individuals to oversee and carry it out. At PCI Mechanical, all of our staff have to take part in a demanding and intensive 5-year apprenticeship. Each apprentice must go to school at our training facility in Wichita for classroom work on a five-week rotation throughout the year. That means attending one class a week for five weeks with their onsite job training involving working for contractors for the other 4 weeks.

Enviable Safety Record and Commitment to Safety Training

Safety on the job, wherever that may be, is a high priority for us here at PCI Mechanical and that commitment to safety is ingrained in all members of our organization from the top down to the very bottom. Although our staff is fully trained to a high degree once they have successfully passed their apprenticeship, we don’t believe it should end there.

That is why we have regular safety training in place to ensure our team are always up to speed with the latest developments and current industry standards for safety. We believe this strong company culture of health and safety being the driving forces of everything we do is why we have such an enviable safety record.

Weekly Job Box Safety Talks and Pre-Task Walkdowns

Out on the field, we still don’t leave things to chance and our foreman will run through a job box safety talk at the start of every week on a project. He will also include a pre-task safety walkdown so that everyone is clear on what they should and should not be doing.

Monthly Safety Meetings and Reports

In addition to all the initial training and regular additional training we put our staff through, we also hold monthly safety meetings in person. Everyone on the team is invited to attend these meetings where we discuss any issues that happened during the previous month and look ahead to upcoming critical work we have on the schedule. We also take this opportunity to reaffirm mandatory safety topics that need to be reiterated, so we can be sure our staff constantly keep them at the forefront of their mind and do not become complacent.

External Safety Consultation

As well as the internal safety training and meetings we hold, we also have a contract with an external safety consultation team that we rely on. They provide a frank and unbiased overview of our safety program.
